FastPay ET Wallet is a production-ready mobile application designed to facilitate seamless cross-border payments between the United States and Ethiopia. Built for FastPay LLC (MSB Licensed, NMLS #2327896), this application delivers a pixel-perfect user experience with 60fps UI-thread animations, comprehensive Zustand state management, and strict Domain-Driven Design across five core business domains — Auth, Wallet, Transaction, Contact, and Notification.
The Challenge
Why This Exists
Ethiopian diaspora communities in the US face high fees, slow settlement times, and poor mobile UX when sending remittances home. Existing apps lack native mobile feel, real-time exchange rates, and MSB-compliant security measures.
The Solution
How We Solved It
A React Native (Expo SDK 52) mobile app with five DDD bounded contexts, Zustand state stores with MMKV encrypted persistence, and a 60fps animation system powered by Reanimated v3 running exclusively on the UI thread. Schema-first development ensures all data contracts are TypeScript interfaces before implementation, with factory patterns for zero-placeholder UI demos.
